Apogène awarded the IndusRO'2022 prize

Apogène, EDF’s short-term unit commitment software, has been awarded the IndusRO’2022 prize by the ROADEF society!

This prize recognises the industrial impact of Apogène, a large-scale combinatorial optimization software developed at EDF R&D over more than a decade. Built on mixed-integer linear programming and fine-tuned heuristics, Apogène optimises the short-term scheduling of EDF’s power plant portfolio, reducing overall operating costs by several percent. The project involved a complete redesign initiated in 2012, culminating in successive deployments of Apogène V2 (2018), V3 (2020), and V4 (2021).
